Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman’s Practical Magic 2 was expected to be the biggest hit of September. However, the sequel to the 1998 Hollywood film has debuted below expectations. Now, it looks like Warner Bros, the production house backing the film, is headed for another disappointment.
The film was initially expected to earn around $40 million to $50 million at the North American box office in its debut weekend. But it fell hard, yet it is still way more than the original movie’s domestic debut. The first film has a cult following, and this might help the sequel as well.
