Tom Cruise starrer Digger is headed for a very disappointing run at the box office. Distributed by Warner Bros., the film is eyeing a poor debut weekend at the North American box office, and with high production costs, things will get more challenging. It is definitely losing the #1 spot to Anne Hathaway’s Verity this weekend as they both have their debuts. Keep scrolling for the deets.
The movie has also received poor ratings from critics, and it is reportedly one of the lowest-rated in filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu’s career. After Supergirl, The Bride, and The End of Oak Street, the studio will once again fail with this Tom Cruise starrer, despite the star power. It is one of WB’s worst years, and it is more notable because of their successes in recent years.

The report further reveals that WB initially greenlit the Tom Cruise-starrer dark comedy with a $125 million budget, but the budget rose to $160-$180 million after production delays. Therefore, with such a poor debut, the film will be crushed at the box office in its opening weekend. Extraordinary word-of-mouth and ideal conditions can only save this film from being an utter failure. This rarely happens, so we are assuming Digger will be one of this year’s biggest flops.
