Created by JD Majethia and directed by Aatish Kapadia, Netflix’s multi-starrer comedy drama Chumbak brought back the heartwarming, intrusive neighborhood chaos reminiscent of iconic sitcoms like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Baa Bahu Aur Baby, and Khichdi. Anchored by Neena Gupta (Rajni Merchant) and Deven Bhojani (Kuku Merchant), the 16-episode series dropped the first 8 episodes, which blends lighthearted comedy with a surprisingly mature core: a marriage tested by aging, quiet weariness, and a desire for divorce.

Meanwhile, Sumeet Vyas and Manasi Parekh’s Khannas get a notice from their own teenage son, Ruhaan! On the other hand, Rajni Aunty is already connecting dots to the story about Micky being in a jacuzzi with a girl in a swimsuit and Sandeepa Dhar’s Kiran finding that bikini with her husband, Dharmendra, played by Sumeet Raghavan! unlocking a brand-new scandal in the colony.
Rather than finalizing a clean split or a full reconciliation, the season finale hints that the show might satiate you with its Khichdi cooking in full steam! In true Aatish Kapadia style, episode 8 has ended on a meta cliffhanger. Narrator Hutoxi finishes reading Chapter Eight and is bombarded with questions about what happens next. Did Micky cheat on Twinkle? What does the future hold for Rajni and Ronit? Did Micky and Dharmendra get caught or escape Kiran’s trap?
